Warumpi Band Essentials
Apple Music
Formed in 1984 in an outback settlement, the Warumpi Band were the first rock 'n' roll act ever to feature aboriginal lyrics with their album Big Name, No Blankets. Incorporating indigenous instruments like the didgeridoo into traditional bluesy formats, their unique folk-rock vibe grew on Go Bush. They were at their most dynamic on Too Much Humbug, with riffs aplenty, a chanting vocal delivery and snappy drums tying it all together.
