Ty Segall: Influences

Ty Segall: Influences

Like all good punks worth their leather jacket, Ty Segall learned his trade from power-chord-slinging luminaries like The Stooges and Ramones, whose velocity and serrated hooks he then blended with the lumbering riffs of sludgelords like Sleep and Electric Wizard. But it was shape-shifters like David Bowie and Neil Young who taught Segall the power of self-transformation, leading to his detours through folk rock and glam-pop.
