2014's Manipulator was Ty Segall's eighth solo record in the span of seven years, yet that's just a small fraction of his recorded output. Starting out in the mid-'00s, the singer/songwriter made his name by showing up on seemingly every music project he could find, aligning himself with an ever-increasing number of bands on the San Francisco scene. Though best known for his lo-fi garage rock, Segall has proven to be a musical chameleon, having indulged in psych-rock, glam rock and even acoustic folk on 2013's Sleeper.
