Trevor Linnell, aka Wellington's DJ Trei, arrived into a crowded local d'n'b scene in 2006 and quickly stood out from the pack, immediately getting his inventive compositions laden with razor-sharp beats placed on major international compilations. By the release of his second long player, 2013's Satellites, Trei was collaborating with local d'n'b heavy hitters The Upbeats and State of Mind—as well as rootsy singer Thomas Oliver—and his work was being heralded in the upper echelons of global d'n'b as a new state of the art in bass music.
