Toots & The Maytals brought the funk to Kingston in the late '60s, and they never stopped churning out reggae gold. On 1997's "54/46", Toots revisits one of his classics with a dancehall cut helmed by Buju Banton, one of the few singers whose voice gets even gruffer than his. Meanwhile, a 2002 cover of "Hey Jude" is sweet and upbeat, the singer gliding over rhythmic guitar and smooth organ.
