The Upbeats Essentials

A d'n'b duo like no other, Wellington's The Upbeats have adopted all the posturing and theatrics of a glam rock band while producing a unique hard-hitting sound that's won them a global following. On stage, the pair enhance their pumping beats with live instrumentation and ridiculous costumes in what they describe as stadium electronica. Jeremy Glenn and Dylan Jones (stage names Terror Snake and Downie Wolf) met in high school and began making music at the start of the century, primarily focusing on hi-energy conceptual long players. In 2013, the duo also produced the album Delta for countrymen Shapeshifter, which topped the NZ mainstream charts.
