THE ORAL CIGARETTES’ fast-and-furious tracks have captured the attention of festivalgoers worldwide. The Japanese rockers first won notice in their native Nara at the start of the 2010s, a period when a new wave of domestic groups was emerging to reshape the local rock sound. The four-piece band, best known for penning the opening theme song of the 2015 Japanese anime Noragami Aragoto, writes driving numbers punctuated by scream-along choruses, along with plenty of “ahs” and “ohs” scattered throughout to keep the energy up.
