There are very few Irish folk musicians better known than The Chieftains. Since they started out in 1962, they've been ambassadors of traditional Irish music, finding fans all over the globe. In later years, The Chieftains began to introduce stars from disparate genres into the mix, working with Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Madonna and Luciano Pavarotti, to name just a few. Despite several personnel changes, with Paddy Moloney the only constant until his sad passing in October 2021, The Chieftains occupied the world stage for longer than almost any other group you can name in any genre.
