The Auteurs: Next Steps

Led by perennial indie rock outsider Luke Haines, The Auteurs always seemed to be at odds with the early-'90s Britpop scene, from working with U.S. noise rock producer Steve Albini to penning dark tunes about murder and loss. These cuts showcase Haines's range, from early snarling rockers, to their electronica-influenced final album, to their collaboration with techno icon µ-Ziq.
