One of Australia's great international rock 'n' roll stars, Stevie Wright made his name as lead singer (billed sometimes as Little Stevie) and co-songwriter of The Easybeats, a '60s combo that fused hooky, souled-up garage rock with swagger and sex appeal. Wright's slightly raspy vocals evolved into a formidable bluesy-soul instrument by the time the band split in '69.
