What began as the solo electronic side-project of an ex-indie rock kid, Auckland's Andrew Spraggon, has developed over the years into a large revolving ensemble with global appeal. Blending a love of hip-hop and trip-hop, and mixing in jazz, funk and reggae influences, each new Sola Rosa record features an exotic array of local and international guest vocalists. The group's breakthrough album, 2009's Get It Together, found them a worldwide audience. Trippy and sophisticated, it's music for the head and soul.
