Shelby Lynne got her start grabbing for Nashville's brass ring in the late ‘80s, cutting mainstream country without achieving much success. By the mid ‘90s she'd abandoned commercial endeavours in favour of a jazzier, more idiosyncratic sound and she headed to California to restart her career by blending pop, rock and soul with her Americana roots. Ironically, she earned a GRAMMY® in 2001 for Best New Artist despite her long career. Ultimately Lynne has followed her muse wherever it leads, from a Dusty Springfield tribute record to a Christmas album.
