Savage Essentials

He's a big man with a big voice and a big claim to fame. In 2009 Savage became the first New Zealand hip-hop artist to go platinum in the US. The song was his first single, “Swing”, which appeared in the 2007 Judd Apatow film Knocked Up and won listeners over with its crunching beat, brusque rapping style and steamy let's-get-this-party-started atmosphere. For “Moonshine” he teamed up with Akon, who brought his trademark Auto-Tuned croon to the party, adding some slinkiness to Savage's swagger.
