Sammy Fain: The Songwriters

Sammy Fain: The Songwriters

At a time when pop music was getting bluesier, Sammy Fain remained a traditionalist with an ear for melody. He got his start in the ‘20s, but Fain's sentimental ballads wouldn't become standards until the ‘40s, loved by jazz singers and pop crooners alike. Even as traditional pop gave way to rock ‘n' roll, Fain's standards remained beloved by modern performers well into the 21st century.
