Raised Fist's metal-flavoured hardcore displays a dizzying level of craftsmanship, even when they launch into full-on bludgeoning mode. From the angry Swedes' early recordings, 2000's “Running Man” derives its tension from a precise balance of rumbling power chords and swiftly marching drums. Their skill has only grown more agile with time; 2015's “Chaos” leashes Alexander Hagman's crusty bark to an intricate maze of stuttering riffs that echo alt-metal's grooviness, and “We Will Live Forever” from the same year sports the kind of sharp funk breakdowns for which Rage Against the Machine are known.
