Queen: Next Steps

Queen: Next Steps

Queen's less celebrated songs are just as grandiose, intricate and devilishly fun as their greatest hits; “The March of the Black Queen” is particularly fine, massed operatic harmonies and all. The ornate prog of their early days may have absorbed influences from ‘20s jazz, folk, disco and funk (as on the greasy “Dragon Attack”), but they never sounded like anyone but themselves.
