PNC Essentials

Rapper Sam Hansen, aka PNC (an acronym of his hometown Palmerston North City) immediately made a name for himself with his fluid flow as soon as he first appeared in the local underground hip-hop scene around 2003. He was quickly taken under the wing of heavyweights like P-Money and Scribe and his debut, 2006's Rookie Card, earned him the NZ Music Award for best hip-hop album. By his fifth major release, 2014's The Code, PNC had incorporated many electronic dance elements into his sound, moving on from the straight-up traditional hip-hop beats of his earlier classic cuts.
