Andy Turner and Ed Handley comprise English duo Plaid, a highly influential dance and electronica act. They first rose to prominence as founding members of The Black Dog, a pioneering techno group on the iconic Warp Records label, before 1995 brought a new focus for the London-based musicians. Melding syncopated beats with a variety of instrumentation and samples, Plaid took IDM in interesting, critically-acclaimed directions, touching post-techno, hip-hop, ambient and world music over ten studio releases. They've remixed artists as diverse as Goldfrapp and Red Snapper and collaborated with Björk.
