Parvaaz Essentials

Bangalore’s Parvaaz first emerged in 2010 from a contemporary rock scene that made a blend of Western influences with Indian inflections its signature. Taking cues from inspirations both mainstream (U2, Pink Floyd) and alternative (Porcupine Tree, Junoon), the adaptable four-piece have carved out a path all their own. Switching between Hindi, Urdu and English, singer Khalid Ahamed leads songs that sweep from softly epic prog-rock, like “Color White”, to more experimental efforts such as “Beparwah”, in the space between folk and funk.
