They experimented with horn arrangements and spoken word on the seven-minute epic “SpottieOttieDopaliscious”; they gave the side-eye to peers who wound up “face down in the mainstream” on “Mainstream”. But the sticky hooks and funky beats of “Rosa Parks” and “Player's Ball” ensured their rise.
