Hip-hop and R&B offer some of the most fluid, dynamic sounds today, true barometers for where the culture is at and where it’s going. Headlining #OnRepeat this week, a playlist chock-full of the hottest new songs we can’t seem to stop playing, is Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby”, a song that—like the artist himself—seems to have come out of nowhere to become one of the hottest things moving in hip-hop and R&B this week. But he didn’t come out nowhere. The Virginia-hailing Richman is signed to Brent Faiyaz’s ISO Supremacy label and contributed to Faiyaz’s album Larger Than Life. He’s got plenty of music available already, most notably 2022’s ALLIGATOR EP, but something tells us we’re going to start measuring Richman’s output in terms of pre- and post-“Million Dollar Baby”.
