Bringing together two Canadian brothers and a pair of musicians from Japan, MONKEY MAJIK have used their brand of midtempo pop-rock make the most of the cultural divide. The group started really rolling in the early ‘00s, after self-financing a debut EP and watching it grow in popularity across the city of Sendai. A national breakout came with “Around the World", which featured samples woven into the band's bouncy, guitar-guided sound. The quartet continue to stand out thanks to the way they hopscotch between languages during songs.
