Marnie Stern Essentials

Born and raised in New York City, singer/songwriter and guitar virtuoso Marnie Stern scored big when her 2007 debut, In Advance of the Broken Arm, become one of the year's most buzzed-about indie albums. It introduced her signature fretboard-tapping style, Stern combining furious guitar pyrotechnics with her quirky pop songwriting skills. The following year's This Is It... and 2010's self-titled album moved in a more accessible direction and nodded to new wave influences, while 2013's The Chronicles of Marnia ushered in a greater emphasis on introspective lyrics.
