Mark McGuire Essentials

Experimental guitarist Mark McGuire is a man of contrasts. His music explores abrasive noise and beautiful, beatific new age pieces with equal amounts of thrilling energy. McGuire brought those two ideas to bear as a member of Emeralds, the Krautrock-meets-electronica band he was a part of until 2013. His musical ideas have truly crystallised through solo efforts like 2012's Get Lost and 2014's Along The Way, that find him augmenting his gentle instrumentals with synth washes, skittering drum machine rhythms and world music elements.
