Howling feedback and fuzz-box grind all but buried singer Adalita in the thrilling maelstrom of Magic Dirt '90s albums Friends in Danger and Young & Full of the Devil. But the noise-rock fiends from Geelong found a firecracker clarity in What Are Rockstars Doing Today and Tough Love, mid '00s pop-rock missiles launched up the alternative charts. Adalita continued to mine her inner Chrissie Hynde and Debbie Harry on Snow White in '05 as her gritty pop chemistry with Dean Turner, Adam Robertson and Raul Sanchez grew ever tighter. Sadly, tragedy struck with Turner's passing from a rare form of cancer in '09, leaving one of the most inspired and explosive stories in Australian rock unfinished.
