Lorrie Morgan Essentials

The daughter of Grand Ole Opry star George Morgan, Lorrie Morgan was born into Nashville royalty. Though she started performing at 13 and released some stray singles during the ‘70s and ‘80s, her career took off with the release of her debut album in 1989. She soon became one of the predominant voices of ‘90s country. In an era of blustery divas, Lorrie brought a sensual melancholy to her soaring ballads. Fans were familiar with her scars—married six times, she lost her one true love to alcoholism—while her independent look and old-school Southern charm stood out in a world of manufactured stars.
