Len Faki's approach to techno is every bit as uncompromising as you'd expect from one of the original residents of the legendary Berghain club. The Berlin-based producer first made his mark with his labels, Figure and Podium, where he sketched the outline of a sound—thundering drums and cavernous reverb offset by shining synths and organs—that he would develop in both his DJ sets and his barnstorming singles for Berghain's Ostgut Ton label. With their vertiginous builds, concussive percussion and air-raid–siren dynamics, they're overwhelming in the best way.
