While best known as the home for landmark riot grrrl acts like Bikini Kill and Huggy Bear, Kill Rock Stars has also been a welcome voice in support of experimental music. Both through the main imprint and via offshoot 5RC, the label stayed on the bleeding edge of the noise, art rock and freak folk scenes with groundbreaking releases from Deerhoof, The Mae Shi, Hella and Metalux.
