Katchafire Essentials

Initially starting out as a straight-up Bob Marley covers band, Katchafire quickly grew into New Zealand's premier traditional reggae outfit. Everything changed for the Hamilton group when in 2002, after five years of jamming together, they decided to perform one of their own compositions, which quickly became a massive national hit. Since then, despite various lineup changes, each of the band's albums of originals has charted strongly at home and they've become a favourite of roots music festivals across the globe.
