If You Like… Stan Getz and João Gilberto

The mood of the bossa nova/jazz milestone Getz/Gilberto is epitomised in the single “The Girl from Ipanema”. Those same textures of Getz's breathy tenor sax can be heard on Jazz Samba and other sessions, and Gilberto's swaying, sophisticated compositions come alive on sets with Herbie Mann. The spirit of both artists lives on in works by Vince Guaraldi and others.
