Human Nature: The Early Years
Apple Music
Never underestimate the power of four men singing in perfect harmony. Toby Allen, Phil Burton and brothers Andrew and Mike Tierney got together as Sydney schoolboys. They layered doo-wop harmonies atop buoyant R&B pop on their 1996 debut, Telling Everybody, but they went through a boy-band phase on 2000's self-titled album. It wasn't until 2005's Reach Out: The Motown Record that the band really hit their stride on the first of three Motown-themed releases. This playlist goes deep into contoured harmonies from Human Nature's early years.
