Hank Mobley: Next Steps

With his rich, soulful sound, saxman Hank Mobley was a high priest of hard bop. Tucked among the prolific musician's many celebrated albums are plenty of lesser-known gems, where Mobley's graceful swinging absolutely smoulders. And his work as a sideman with the likes of Miles Davis and Sonny Clark shows Mobley had plenty of sting in his swing when straight bop was on the agenda.
