Born on the L.A. metal scene, Guns N' Roses went straight for the jugular, with Axl Rose's huge vocal range matching Slash's shredding solos note for note. They also earned the nickname “The Most Dangerous Band in the World," thanks to outrageous offstage antics. Their 1987 debut, Appetite for Destruction, topped the charts across the globe. 1991's Use Your Illusion repeated the trick, but well-documented battles with drink, drugs and each other took their toll and the band imploded, leaving Rose as the only original member by 1997.
