Funkadelic: The Westbound Years

From 1970's self-titled debut to 1975's Let's Take It to the Stage, Funkadelic redefined the sound of both funk and rock on a small Detroit indie, Westbound Records. The artistic freedom that George Clinton and company enjoyed at Westbound resulted in groundbreaking classics like the terrifying Maggot Brain and the awesomely funky, politically-charged America Eats Its Young.
