Family Tree: Sepultura

Brazilian metal masters Sepultura first emerged as a death-thrash hybrid in 1984, before eventually experimenting with nu-metal and tribal grooves. Similarly, the band’s members—especially founding brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, who have left the group—went on to create a diverse metallic constellation that includes short-lived industrial-thrash duo Nailbomb, black-thrash legends Sarcófago, supergroups Cavalera Conspiracy and Killer Be Killed, and shapeshifting vets Soulfly, among many others.
