Family Tree: Herbie Hancock

Keyboardist and bandleader Herbie Hancock has collaborated with some of modern music's biggest names. He worked with post-war greats Lee Morgan and Wes Montgomery and played in Miles Davis' Second Great Quintet. His bandmates Bennie Maupin and Eddie Henderson became key players in the jazz avant-garde. By the ‘80s, Hancock's slick grooves had him collaborating with Stevie Wonder and Material.
