Everclear Essentials

Art Alexakis moved from San Francisco to Portland, Oregon, placed an ad in a local newspaper and formed Everclear there in 1991. Mixing the crunch of grunge with power-pop hooks, sunny choruses and sardonic lyrics, Everclear became one of the biggest alternative bands of the ‘90s over the course of five albums, including platinum sellers Sparkle and Fade, So Much for the Afterglow and Songs from an American Movie Vol. One: Learning How to Smile. After reorganizing in 2004, the band now features a new lineup that continues to tour and record.
