One of the most revered and notorious outfits of Australia's Countdown era, Dragon owed their roots to New Zealand's mid-'70s prog frontier—and their tragic fate to rock 'n' roll excess. Charismatic frontman Marc Hunter and his bassist brother Todd formed the band's core with keyboardist/songwriter Paul Hewson on late-'70s classics "April Sun in Cuba", "Are You Old Enough" and "Still In Love With You". After years on the bench for bad behaviour, Marc rejoined for the 1984 comeback Body and the Beat, just before Hewson's death. Though Marc Hunter passed in 1998, Todd has led a gold catalogue back on the road since 2006, and Dragon into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2008.
