A commanding dancehall vocalist who mixed reggae and R&B for a string of hits in the '90s and '00s, Diana King is known for songs like "Shy Guy," as well as for the fact that she's the first major reggae artist to come out as gay. Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, she initially gained attention through a cameo on The Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready to Die before finding solo success with her 1995 debut Tougher Than Love. She's continued releasing music into the '10s, and was recognized with a Vanguard Award by the Out Music Awards in 2012.
