David Sanborn may be a jazz cat, but the saxophonist nibbles at the edges of too many genres to count. “Let the Good Times Roll” features him and smoky crooner Joss Stone digging into brassy, retro-jump blues, and The Brecker Brothers' mid-'70s gem “Sneakin' Up Behind You” drops his stabbing lines into disco-kissed fusion. Sanborn also loves Latin funk, as heard in the busy, pointillist syncopation steering “Spanish Joint”.
