Daniel Caesar: Influences

Daniel Caesar's appreciation of classic soul has informed his own brand of quivering R&B. The piano-led splendour of his single “Streetcar” echoes the catchy melodies of Stevie Wonder, while the slow, slithering hooks of “Get You” call back to the sensual sound of D'Angelo's “One Mo'Gin”. The way he uses guitar lines to shape his emotive sound, meanwhile, nods to the deftly expressive strums of Radiohead, Pink Floyd and Frank Ocean.
