Creedence Clearwater Revival: The '70s

CCR put out a string of roots-rock hits from their inception well into the '70s. The feedback-fortified “Run Through the Jungle” oozes with the creeping paranoia of American soldiers in Vietnam; with its R&B punch, “Travelin' Band” captures John Fogerty's ecstatic Little Richard fandom. One of their last hits, “Hey Tonight” boasts tight riffs and crisp harmonies exuding a proto-power pop feel.
