Chrysalis Records: New Wave Rock
Apple Music
After starting in the early '70s as a UK hard rock and prog imprint, Chrysalis Records transferred smoothly into the new wave '80s with Billy Idol's punk-metal sneer, Blondie's stylish genre-bending and Pat Benatar's glossy Top 40 pop-rock. By the '80s, Spandau Ballet and Ultravox made them New Romantic standard bearers, while Huey Lewis & The News repped for the suburban set.
