A New Jersey-born crooner who strengthened his songwriting chops at the legendary Berklee College of Music, Charlie Puth is a master of R&B-influenced pop. His debut releases in 2015 were both duets: “Marvin Gaye”, featuring the saucy Meghan Trainor, allows him to flaunt his romantic side while paying homage to a soul great; “See You Again”, his world-conquering collab with Wiz Khalifa, is a heartfelt hip-hop elegy that shows off Puth's falsetto. His later singles have a darker, synthier vibe, with the sinewy “Attention” bathing in spite toward an ex-lover and the Kehlani back-and-forth “Done for Me” possessing the deep grooves of ‘80s robo-funk.
