Like all modern norteño groups, Calibre 50's joyous, energetic and malleable accordion-flavoured banda sound owes a debt to Los Tigres del Norte. Their passionate songwriting harks back to ranchera icon José Alfredo Jiménez, who celebrates their mutual hometown in "Corrido de Mazatlan". Calibre also picked up useful arena-rock moves from anthemic Maná hits like "En el Muelle de San Blas".
