Branford Marsalis Essentials

As a member of perhaps the most famous musical family in New Orleans, saxophonist Branford Marsalis began his professional career with a bang. While attending Berklee College of Music, Marsalis joined Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and toured Europe during the summer of 1980. Gigs playing with greats like Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis soon followed. Marsalis would also play with his brother Wynton Marsalis' quintet, and famously recorded and toured with pop legend Sting from 1985-1999, though his main focus since the ‘90s has been his own GRAMMY® winning quartet.
