Best of Sub Pop

Seattle's Sub Pop was founded in the late '80s to document the rumblings of what would become known as grunge, capturing the squall of early Nirvana, Mudhoney and feminist punks L7. These days the only traits Sub Pop's acts share are adventurousness and a label; its roster spans the acrid wit and sumptuous arrangements of Father John Misty, the inscrutable folk-pop of The Shins and the fractured, impressionistic hip-hop of Shabazz Palaces.
