Ireland has been churning out killer metal bands ever since the genre's birth in the '70s. The country's output of scorching riffs, shrieking vocals and pounding drums has only grown more intense through the decades. Not only have Irish headbangers made forays into alt-metal, death metal and industrial metal, they've also spawned their very own subgenre—you guessed it: Celtic metal.
