Best of Illbient and Beyond

Spearheaded in the late '90s by producers like DJ Spooky and DJ Olive, Illbient put a highbrow, head-nodding spin on global beat culture, weaving avant grooves from strands of ambient, dub, trip-hop, drum 'n' bass and more. By the early '00s a new crew of planet-hopping and genre-bending artists like DJ/Rupture and Matt Shadetek were putting a laptop-era update on Illbient's eclectic style.
