Indie truly came into its own in the '90s, morphing into a multi-armed beast that thrived in the underground. PJ Harvey's dark, visceral rock gave parents nightmares, while Primal Scream's acid house grooves gave kids a blissful escape. In between, disenfranchised punks like Fugazi educated the masses and Iceland's eccentric experimenter Björk charmed us all.
